Happy Holidays! Architectural Ceramics hopes you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving surrounded by family and friends. Now, it's time to transition from trimming a turkey to trimming the tree. Christmas is almost here!
Children everywhere want to spot Santa sliding down the chimney. Until then, we're here to get you in the holiday mood with two mood boards that are spot-on with a current interior design trend: going for gold, home accents that is.
On Trend: Mixing Black & Gold
Black and charred or perfectly golden brown -- How did your Thanksgiving turkey turn out? Are you already starting to deck the halls of your home for the holidays? Rumor has it that Santa is switching out the silver bells on his sleigh to gold ones this year. You may want to do the same and go for gold after seeing our first mood board, that features a mix of black and gold tile.

Not only the color, but the size of this tile is on trend. Our Dakota Collection features a 2"x8" or 3"x9" elongated subway tile, available in eight colorways. The darkest color, Abyss, is shown here. For more installation photos visit the Dakota Product Page of our website, or download a Data Sheet here.
This small-scale decorative tile adds interest to the other flat field tiles featured on the mood board, because of its etched design. You'll find golden nuggets like this and others by browsing one of our DC-metro area showrooms and speaking with our knowledgeable sales and design associates.
The Shinju Collection, inspired by pearls and the water they live in, comes to us by way of special order from our vendor partner, Lunada Bay. The Pacific colorway, shown here, mixes gold and silver glazed ceramic tiles in either a Smooth or Reef (rough) blend. To see more color and size options, download a Shinju Catalogue here.
The Ellington Collection, from our vendor partner Walker Zanger, features a 4-1/2" x 5-1/4" hexagon field tile in the color Ebony. Let's hope you're on Santa's nice list and get this honed natural stone tile instead of a honed lump of charcoal. Pictured below, brass and copper inlays are also available within the collection, as well as other field tile sizes.

This gold metallic glaze on a porcelain tile body, reminds us that porcelain tile not only shines for it's durability, but for it's aesthetics too. Using modern glazing or high-definition printing techniques allows tile artisans to think big and push design boundaries with large format porcelain tile.
For many of us in the DC-metro area, we'd rather have our toes covered in sand than Ugg boots and snow. This next mood board brings a bit of California style to the east coast, by way of rose gold tile.

We're stoked to talk about our Noble Collection. This glazed porcelain is made to look like natural stone. From the lightest color Venato, pictured above, to the darkest color Romano Greige, this large format tile represents a large range of variation characteristic of natural stone.

With a fireplace like the one pictured above, Santa may visit your house more than once. Here, the 24"x48' Noble field tile was used throughout the space. Also available from the collection, are large format 12"x48", 12"x24" and 4"x12" field tiles, as well as mesh-mounted mosaics.

A mix of natural stone and copper, this decorative tile also from Walker Zanger's Ellington Collection gives us that west-coast, Art Deco vibe. Whether paired with brass or copper, the combinations from the collection mix just the right amount of sophistication and bling.
Do you have a new rose gold MacBook Air on your Christmas wish list? This year, Apple brings a new color and dimension to their beloved laptop.
Our 3"x6" beveled rose gold subway tile does the same. Tried and true white subway tile will never go out of style, but we think this metallic finish is a groovy style upgrade.
