Week of October 14, 2019 – Fall Harvest Season - Architessa

Autumn is a fantastic time to celebrate with harvest festivals, apple picking, and general Fall fun! Our idea of fun can be found in these Fall-inspired design posts of the week. From old farmhouses to hip restaurant spaces, there are lots of ways to let Fall inspire your design.

1. A season for change

You've Got to See How Eataly's Rooftop Restaurant Transformed Itself for Fall, House Beautiful

Restaurant designers, take note! This rooftop eatery changes its décor with the seasons, which is a great way to keep things fresh and exciting for customers. The base design is simple which makes it a snap to bring in new seasonal decorations.

2. Autumn by the fire

Inside Instagram Founder Kevin Systrom's Lake Tahoe Retreat, Architectural Digest

We might have already talked about fireplaces last week, but we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t show you this rustic Lake Tahoe cabin. Warm metallics, orange tones, and wood details always make us think of Fall!

3. Can’t have a farmhouse without the farm

NBBJ’s Rysia Suchecka Talks About How She Reinvented a French Farmhouse, Interior Design

Let’s not forget that the design term “Farmhouse style” comes from actual farmhouses! This French Farmhouse, once part of a fully functioning farm, has been renovated with contemporary touches while retaining the history and essence of the space. We love the rough, exposed beams paired with sleek, modern furniture and shelving.

4. Colors of Fall

Cozy Fall Palettes, Traditional Home

There are sage green, rust orange, and earthy taupe hues aplenty in these interiors. Whether you are looking for a rustic farmhouse style or an elevated traditional space, Fall colors can add a feeling of warmth to a space that will last all year long.

5. Close to Nature

Annapolis House, Sandra Meyers Design

A lot of what makes Fall a unique time is its relation to nature – falling leaves, harvesting crops, and changing temperatures. This cozy Annapolis home feels welcoming thanks in no small part to the natural elements like stone feature walls near the fireplace and kitchen island. The dining room light fixture even looks a bit like a pinecone! Along with warm wood tones, you really get an Autumn vibe.
